Actually, I'd had two different futuristic/science fiction story ideas that I've decided to put together for this story. It might be a bit difficult, though, because the main character from each is now a single character and I'm still not sure just how I want her to be.
Also, it's too much like The Hunger Games for my liking, despite a few twists. I'm trying to fix that, but I feel as though it will be pretty apparent anyway.
I'm (finally!) starting driver's ed classes this Monday, so I won't be on often for the next three weeks. Which is good, because it minimizes my posting. One of my biggest dA pet peeves is when deviants post their chapters so often that you can't even keep up with them, and then you just stop reading it because it's so poorly/sloppily written that you can't stand it. Probably being a total hypocrite there, but maybe that's why it bothers me so much. XD
Also, if anyone can recommend some good science fiction novels? I really love the genre, but I haven't read many of the classics.
Last year I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (awesome book--admittedly my own All the Shades of Scarlet is too much like it--that's why I'm going to rewrite it.)
...And a few months ago (before civics class and finals started to take their toll) I read part of Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man (also fascinating--especially "The Veldt," which I was required to read for my creative writing class.) and I was meaning to check out his other works (particularly Fahrenheit 451) when I heard that he died.
One of the other books on my list is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which I am particularly excited to read.
Again, recommendations?? Also for historical fiction.
Sorry for the lengthy journal. XD
